The Jefferson-Jackson/Brinkley Award Gala to be held on Monday, 8th of October, starting at 6:00 p.m. at the Columbus Iron Works/Convention and Trade Center. The Keynote Speaker will be the Democratic Leader of the U.S. Congress, the Honorable James Clyburn of South Carolina—the second-ranking Democratic Member of Congress! The recipients of this year’s Jack T. Brinkley, Sr. Award for a legacy of public service to the Columbus region are (in alphabetical order): Ga. Representative Debbie Buckner, Ga. Senator Ed Harbison, and Dr. A.J. Kravtin.

Voter registration forms available at the Headquarters. Voter registration deadline for the November General Election is Monday, 8th of October; earlier for mail-in registration. Please don’t wait until it’s too late.

Saturday Breakfast at Ryan’s restaurant for September is the 8th and will be an Elections Roundtable, speaker TBA;
Saturday Breakfast on October 13th will be at the Headquarters and feature Julia Slater, our District Attorney who faces Republican opposition in the General Election. Breakfast at Ryan’s is $7.50; suggested donation is $7.00 for the Breakfast, juice and coffee included.
